Why Join Interact?
Interact offers students the opportunity to connect with leaders locally and globally while building skills that last a lifetime. Members can:
Take action to create positive change in their school and community
Explore new cultures and promote international understanding
Develop leadership skills through real-world experience
Build confidence and teamwork abilities
Make lifelong friendships with peers around the world
Strengthen college and scholarship applications through meaningful service involvement
What’s Involved?
Interact clubs organize at least two service projects each year:
A local project that benefits their school or community
An international project that promotes global understanding and cooperation
Rotary sponsors mentor and support members as they plan, fundraise, collaborate, and implement these initiatives. This hands-on involvement allows students to take ownership of their ideas while learning responsibility, communication, and project management skills.
Key Features of Interact Clubs
1. Sponsorship and Mentorship
Each club is guided by a local Rotary club. Rotary mentors provide expertise in organizing service projects, managing budgets, fundraising, and effective leadership.
2. Target Age Group
Interact is specifically designed for youth ages 12–18, creating a dynamic, supportive environment for personal growth and civic engagement.
3. Commitment to Service
Clubs complete a minimum of two service projects annually—one local and one international—reinforcing the importance of both community impact and global citizenship.
4. Leadership Development
Members serve in elected leadership roles such as president, secretary, and treasurer. These roles foster accountability, teamwork, and strategic thinking.
5. Independence and Responsibility
While supported by Rotary, Interact clubs manage their own meetings, activities, and finances. This independence empowers students to develop practical life and leadership skills.
6. Global Engagement
Interact clubs often collaborate with peers worldwide, participating in international initiatives that encourage cross-cultural understanding and goodwill.
7. Connection to Rotary
As part of the Rotary family, Interact reflects the Rotary motto, “Service Above Self.” This guiding principle encourages members to lead with integrity, compassion, and a commitment to making a lasting difference.
Global Opportunities and Events
Interact members can celebrate and expand their impact by participating in global initiatives such as:
World Interact Week
Interact Video Awards
Rotary Youth Day at the United Nations
Global Youth Service Day
These events connect young leaders across borders, amplify their voices, and highlight the collective impact of youth-driven service worldwide.
In Summary
Interact is more than a club—it’s a platform for young leaders to grow, serve, and connect. Through mentorship, service, and global collaboration, members gain the skills, confidence, and perspective needed to become thoughtful leaders in their schools, communities, and beyond.
